Gikingi Village, Kenya, September 3, 2008--Children play in snowlike hail after a freak storm blanketed a 30-acre (12-hectare) stretch of central Kenya in a sheet of white.

Cold air currents from the Indian Ocean collided with warm air from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to trigger the storm, according to the Reuters news agency.

The storm damaged food crops, grazing fields, and ten greenhouses at a flower farm, the BBC reported, adding that many villagers had never witnessed such a sight.
